Friday Best is all about shining the spotlight on ambitious and smart women. We do this by publishing weekly interviews with women from around the globe. Behind the scenes this involves finding interesting women to speak to, interviewing, editing, scheduling, mailing and sharing content on social media.

create a better conversation for young women

KEEP IT INTERESTING

Making sure our readers stay engaged with our content requires regular editorial planning (and juggling). I aim to speak with women of varied backgrounds, ask interesting questions our readers also want the answers to and regularly check in to see if our plans match our original vision.

PICCIE UP

To compliment the story told in the text of the interview I also source images of our interviewees and stock images. I think of it as a second narrative that brings out the personality of the interviewee for the reader. 

THE FINAL CUT

A large part of what makes a good interview is figuring out what not to include. It's about maintaining the integrity of what has been shared with you and making sure that it's also a pleasure to read.

LET'S CHAT

I build rapport with our interviewees by making sure they know what to expect in the interview process. Our interviews are on the personal side so the interview style is more like a chat than a formal conversation.
